David Davies

He is a visual artist based on the coast in North Norfolk. He has been influenced by aspects of Japanese culture for some time, both in visual art, but also in his work as a writer. He writes ‘haiku’ and ‘tanka’, and has had many published in various anthologies around the world. He is a member of the British Haiku Society.

Presently, he is working on a series called ‘the Kintsugi Drawings’. In the past, he has produced monochrome drawings based on aerial photography (particularly landscape views in snow). A few months ago, he came upon the concept of ‘kintsugi’ in Japanese ceramics. The ‘Kintsugi Drawings’ series is an amalgamation of the two ideas.

He is also a member of the Free Painters and Sculptors artist society based in London, and shows his visual art works with them regularly.
